SLIIN Explores Strategic Partnership with IDECOS to Advance Women’s Economic Empowerment in Matara

On 13 July 2026, the Managing Director of Sustainable Lanka Impact Investing Network (SLIIN) (Pvt) Ltd, Navindra Liyanaarachchi, held a productive discussion with the Institute for Development of Community Strengths (INDECOS) on launching a new initiative to promote women’s economic empowerment in the Matara District.

The proposed project aims to identify and support progressive women micro-entrepreneurs by providing microfinance loans to strengthen and expand their businesses. Beyond financial assistance, the initiative will offer continuous capacity building, business coaching, and progress monitoring throughout the project period to enhance the sustainability and growth of beneficiary enterprises.

SLIIN and IDECOS are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the coming weeks, paving the way for the official rollout of project activities among selected IDECOS beneficiaries in the Matara District. This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to fostering inclusive economic growth, strengthening women-led enterprises, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities through financial inclusion and entrepreneurship development.
